GER 1-2 JAP: Why Hansi Flick Should Be Blamed For Germany’s Loss Today
Japan beat Germany 2-1 this afternoon, making Germany the second big team after Argentina to lose their first World Cup game.
The Germans dominated the first half of the game, and Ilkay Gundogan, a midfielder for Man City, scored a goal to cap off their good work.
The second half was very different from the first. Ritsu Doan tied the game for Japan right away in the 75th minute, and Takuma Asano won the game for his team in the 83rd minute.
I don’t think anyone but Hansi Flick should be blamed for Germany’s disappointing loss to Japan this afternoon.
The 57-year-old’s starting lineup was sloppy, and the changes he made later in the game hurt his team’s ability to take chances.
