Disaster as Mbappe went Missing for PSG

Gianluigi Donnarumma (2/10):

Twice caught under corners early on, terrible with his feet, and was at fault for every goal, first palming a cross into Raphinha’s path, then giving the ball away immediately before Pedri played in the Brazilian for his and Barca’s second. Stayed on his line for the third, too, when he could have tried to claim the corner. Terrible.

Marquinhos (6/10):

Some elegant defending at right-back in the first half before he moved to centre-back. PSG’s best defender, but he couldn’t get to Gundogan’s cross for Barca’s third.

Lucas Hernandez (5/10):

Switched to right-back in the second half after playing at centre-back in the first half. Had to babysit Beraldo and was often overwhelmed physically as Barcelona pressed.

Lucas Beraldo (4/10):

Made a terrible challenge on Raphinha and struggled immensely against Lewandowski throughout. Amazing he completed the 90, as he looked completely overawed by the occasion, and was booked for a terrible challenge.

Nuno Mendes (6/10):

One electric run took him into the box and beat two defenders. Cleared off the line from Lewandowski after Donnarumma flapped at an early corner and was a constant danger down the left, but his attacking is much better than his defending.

Lee Kang-in (6/10):

Played as PSG’s most advanced midfielder and stung the palms of Ter Stegen in the first half. Overwhelmed at times defensively, but did his bit with the ball. Replaced by Zaire-Emery on the hour.

Vitinha (7/10):

Always tidy on the ball and scored PSG’s second goal after a brilliant burst from midfield, poking under Ter Stegen. Had to defend more often than he would be used to but was PSG’s best midfielder.

Fabian Ruiz (6/10):

Played an excellent through ball for Vitinha to score and had to drop deep regularly to combat Barcelona’s intricate build-up.

Ousmane Dembele (6/10):

Equalised with a stunner, crashing an effort into the roof of the net against his former club, but was on the periphery of the game otherwise.

Marco Asensio (3/10):

Marked almost completely out of the game in the first half and was hooked at half-time as a result. Touched the ball just 17 times, and gave PSG no focal point to aim for. A dire evening.

Kylian Mbappe (4/10):

Muted throughout. A couple of dribbles aside, he had next to no bearing on the game. A bitterly disappointing evening, as he just didn’t get enough of the ball.

Bradley Barcola (6/10):

On for Asensio at half-time; involved in the build-up to Vitinha’s goal and hit the crossbar, while showing the bravery needed to run at the Barca backline.

Warren Zaire-Emery (5/10):

On for Lee. Didn’t mark Christensen properly for Barcelona’s third, allowing him to jump unchallenged. A telling, if unintended, contribution.

Goncalo Ramos (N/A):

On for Ruiz with five minutes to play as PSG went for it, but he did not have an opportunity to score. That cause a disaster as Mbappe went missing for PSG

Luis Enrique (4/10):

His team-talk at half-time had a stirring effect on PSG, but the decision to play Asensio up front and stick with Beraldo in defence were both misguided. Barring that second-half flurry, PSG played like the away side, and they now have a mountain to climb in Spain.
