Elanga reacts to Ronaldo’s criticism of Man Utd youngsters
Anthony Elanga, a winger for Manchester United, says he gets why Cristiano Ronaldo criticizes the team’s younger players.
Ronaldo criticized the next generation for not wanting to play with him. He said, “They don’t care [about playing with me], some do, but most of them don’t.” He also said that he should be an example for them to follow and learn from.
Elanga, who is 20 years old, was not hurt by what his teammate said. He told reporters: “Cristiano talks in general about young players. We are a new group of people. I always give my full attention to what I’m doing, but I get what he’s saying. There are many phones and many kinds of technology.
Young players can easily get sidetracked and lose focus. I always give my job and what I do my full attention. Even though I don’t speak Spanish, I can understand what he is saying.”
Ronaldo said this in a harsh interview, in which he said he doesn’t respect coach Erik ten Hag and that the club has “betrayed” him.
