Why these three Important Players could leave Asante Kotoko if.
The feel-good factor is back at Kotoko as the club’s manager Prosper Narteh Ogum has helped lift the gloom surrounding the club and fans can start to look forward with optimism.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to win their first league title since 2014. When it comes to transfers, they have excelled in that department too under the current administration, but there are a few player deals that need to be looked into soon.
Here, we take a look at three players whose contracts expires in the next few months.
Mubarik Yussif
The centre-back has unfortunately not got his due, considering that he has been a reliable performer for the club since the beginning of the campaign. Yussif’s contract is believed to end at the end of the season.
Tanzanian giants Simba SC and Young Africans are jostling at the front of the queue for the towering defender if rumours in the Ghanaian media are to be believed.
The Porcupine Warriors are reportedly keen to offer him a new deal in order to prevent him leaving for nothing at the end of the campaign.
Fabio Gama
The Brazilian was on a roll last at the end of the 2020/21 season but injuries and increased competition for places have limited his influence this campaign.
While Gama has remained mum on his future, the club are understood to be extremely keen to keep hold of the midfielder as they see him as the player around who they want to build their side and would not want to lose him especially at this moment.
Salifu Mudasiru
An incredibly solid midfielder if not the most spectacular. Mudasiru has been a cornerstone of Ogum’s Kotoko side this term.
Kotoko’s vice captain has yet to sign a new deal and he wouldn’t be short of suitors, at home or abroad, if he were allowed to leave.
However, it would be a huge surprise if Kotoko allowed the intelligent Salifu Mudasiru to depart, although he is still waiting to sign a new contract.
