UEFA celebrates Dani Alves After Call-Up To National Team
Dani Alves, a legend at Barcelona and a former star at Juventus, was chosen yesterday to be one of the last players to play for Brazil at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 39-year-old defender has been a key and well-known figure in the round leather game, and his consistent play since breaking into the spotlight has made him one of the best right-backs in the modern game of football.
Dani Alves made a name for himself during his time with Barcelona. He is still very active on the field, and he will be playing for the Brazilian senior national team in Qatar. He will be the oldest Brazilian player to play in a FIFA World Cup tournament, breaking the record held by Djalma Santos, who was 37 years old when he played in 1966.
After Coach Tite released the list yesterday, UEFA, which is the governing body of football in Europe, responded to Dani Alves’s inclusion on the list with a post on their verified Twitter account that called him an “icon.”
Then, he will hope to do his best for his country at the most-anticipated event, which will start in a few days.
