The Framework
Onana has endured a rocky start to life at Old Trafford since his £43 million summer move from Inter. The goalkeeper reportedly wants to limit his time away from the club as he continues to adapt to his new surroundings.
Onana retired from international duty in December 2022 after falling out with Cameroon manager Rigobert Song during the World Cup in Qatar. He returned to the fold in September.

Onana Next Steps
Even if Onana gets his wish, a run to the AFCON final on February 11 would see Onana miss United’s Premier League meetings with Tottenham, Wolves, West Ham and Aston Villa, plus a potential FA Cup fourth round tie.
