Kwadwo Poku Mahala – I Am A Better Striker Than Gyan
Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko srriker, Kwadwo Poku, has said he was a better striker than Asamoah Gyan.
Kwadwo Poku and Asamoah Gyan both played in the Ghana Premier League in the 2000s. Mahala moved from Kumasi King Faisal to Kotoko.
According to the former Kotoko striker, Ghana’s all-time topscorer was not at his level in his prime. Asamoah Gyan played for Liberty Professionals in the early 200s before moving abroad. Kwadwo Poku told Zion Felix that he was better than Asamoah Gyan and Shaibu Yakubu of AshGold.
Every player has his peek year and in the 2000s, I was better than any striker in Ghana. Asamoah Gyan of Liberty Professional and Shaibu Yacubu of Ash Gold will afirm this. Taking nothing from what Gyan has achieved in football, I was better in Ghana than him. He added.
Kwadwo Poku was also part of the 2006 team that qualified Ghana to its first World Cup. The attacker missed out in the final selection for the finals.
He also won two Ghana Premier League titles with Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Poku also won SWAG Cup and Ghana League Cup Association Cup with Kotoko.
