Ghana has dropped from 52nd in December 2021 to 61st in the February men’s Fifa ranking released on Thursday.
This was after Ghana’s historic failure at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations that saw the Black Stars exit at the group stage for the first time in 16 years and without winning a match for the first time ever.
The four-time African champions have also dropped from 8th to 11th in Africa as Senegal still remains number one team in Africa after lifting the Afcon for the first time in their history.
Morocco also still maintains at its second position while Nigeria replaces Algeria in third after the 2019 Afcon champions’ group stage exit at the 2021 edition in Cameroon.
Afcon runners-up Egypt moved from 6th to 4th in the latest rankings while Tunisia move from 4th to 5th.
Algeria moved from third to 7th as Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mali, and Burkina Faso complete the top 10 teams in Africa.
