Brothers in Arms: Inaki and Nico Williams Shine in La Liga Team of the Week

For the fifteenth round of the competition, both Inaki Williams, a Ghanaian international, and Nico Williams, his brother, were selected to be members of the La Liga Team of the Month competition.

During Athletic Bilbao’s La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano, the two players were instrumental in the team’s resounding victory by a score of 4-0. As Athletic Bilbao extended their remarkable home run at the San Mamés, the brothers were able to find the back of the net.

Gorka Guruzeta scored the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute, which also served to establish the tone for the home team’s strong performance. Through a powerful shot in the 64th minute, Inaki Williams, who had previously scored in their most recent away draw against Girona, added to the lead. Guruzeta was the one who helped Williams on the strike. Inaki was given credit for the goal, despite the fact that it was deflected off of Alfonso Espino.

Additionally, four minutes later, Nico Williams, the younger brother, added to the scoring rampage with a beautiful shot, which ultimately sealed the victory for Athletic Bilbao by a score of 4-0.

His substantial impact on the squad is demonstrated by the fact that Inaki Williams has now scored eight goals and provided three assists in the 15 La Liga matches that he has played so far this season. Nico Williams, who has scored three goals in a total of twelve appearances for Bilbao, has also been an important contributor to the club’s success.

Thanks to the decisive victory, Athletic Bilbao has moved up to the fifth spot on the league table, where they currently have 28 points. Their upcoming challenges include a match against Cayon in the Copa del Rey and a match against Granada away from home at the Los Cármenes on Sunday, December 10.
