Who gets to win the Best Fifa Awards 2023 coach prize? Top coaches such as Sarina Wiegman, Emma Hayes, and Pep Guardiola have been shortlisted.
Nominees for the Best FIFA Coach 2023 awards include Sarina Wiegman, Emma Hayes, and Pep Guardiola.
Last year, when the Lionesses won Euro 2022, England manager Wiegman claimed the women’s prize.
In the women’s division, the shortlist also includes Chelsea manager Hayes and Jonatan Giraldez of Barcelona.
The men’s shortlist includes Guardiola, who guided Manchester City to a treble, as well as Simone Inzaghi of Inter Milan and Luciano Spalletti of Napoli.
On Monday, January 15th, at a ceremony in London, the winners will be announced.
Uefa also honoured Wiegman with the title of women’s coach of the year in August.
Mary Earps of England is one of two female goalkeepers on the shortlist; Ederson of Manchester City is one of the two males.
Last season, Hayes won the Women’s FA Cup and the Women’s Super League (WSL). She will be leaving Chelsea to take over the US at the end of the season.
In the 2022–23 season, Guardiola guided Manchester City to their first ever Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League title.
From 1 August 2022 through 20 August 2023, performances for the women’s award will be considered, but for the men’s award, the dates are 19 December 2022 through 20 August 2023.
