The 39-year-old has opened up about his future goals, stating that he wishes to keep playing for his country. However, when the time comes for him to retire, he plans to keep those details to himself. Furthermore, the former Manchester United player does not see himself pursuing a career in management after his playing days are finished.

In a recent chat with the Portuguese channel NOW, Cristiano Ronaldo shared, “When I decide to step away from the national team, I won’t give anyone a heads-up; it will be a spontaneous yet well-thought-out choice.”
He added, “For now, my main focus is on supporting the national team in the upcoming matches. We have the Nations League on the horizon, and I’m excited to contribute.”
The experienced player also noted, “Currently, coaching a first team or any team isn’t on my agenda. It’s not something I’ve ever thought about. I see my future involving different paths outside of football, but only God knows what’s ahead.”
Ronaldo’s football career is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable in history, and he remains convinced that he has more to contribute, even as he approaches the later stages of his journey in the sport. The former Juventus star shows no signs of hanging up his boots anytime soon.
Ronaldo is expected to play for Al-Nassr in their upcoming Saudi Pro League match against Al-Feiha on Tuesday, and he may also represent Portugal in their Nations League opener at home against Croatia on September 5.
